how to make a fake candlestick telephone from the 1920’s?

i need to make one from scratch.. like the stick can be a paper towel roll. that much i’ve figured, its for a play, and we need to make about 30, so we need to use cheap materialss.

Sounds like you’re on a roll ( heh heh), keep going. Think also of paper mache, perhaps for the ear piece since it has the shape of a long bell – flared at the end. Coat hangers for the ear piece hook. Cover with paper mache.
