candle making help
I live in Carmel, In. and I need to get some custom made candle molds and don't know where to look?
I have looked online at several candle making companies and many say they custom make, but they don't. I have checked out all the art stores (Hobby Lobby, Michaels, etc.) but they only carry small molds. I need large metal molds and just don't seem to find a place that can make these for me...help!!!

You could probably talk to a metal shop. They make a lot of welded metal shapes, and it sounds like if you are able to describe what you want and exact dimensions, the personnel in a shop like that would be able to take sheet metal and weld it into shapes that you could use.
An alternative you that might also work, would be for you to create clay or wood shapes of candles that you would want - and get some mold making material like Smooth-On and make a latex mold. I think those would hold up to hot wax. I saw on the Smooth-On site there is a food grade mold making material that would be sort of cool to make your own specialty shapes for making cakes. You can find a lot of sculpture supplies at the Compleat Sculptor in NYC if you want to look there.
